A brand launch documentary made for Convivio in partnership with Kalio. It follows Daniela and her brother, fourth-generation chefs from Abruzzo, Italy, as they bring their family's table to Byron Bay: a long-awaited collaboration built on consistency, care and the belief that gathering around food is the deepest connection we have. Convivio is Latin for coming together around the table, and the film captures one evening at a Kalio residence where exceptional food, wine and conversation let people be fully present. A portrait of family, place and the kind of hospitality that keeps drawing people back.
Approach
We sat each person from Convivio and Kalio down for an interview, drawing out Convivio's story through Daniela and Atilio, then captured the event itself as it unfolded across the evening. It was a pleasure to learn the family's history first-hand and to film a night that felt genuinely warm and alive, letting the conversations and the moments at the table lead the edit.
